Description:

A smooth square granite post approximately 3 feet high with a bronze plaque attached to the top. The post is at the end of a fairly new foot path with a small burial ground behind it.

 

Wording:

Second Burial Ground Est. late 1600’s Here is the last resting place for some of Exeter’s early settlers. Samuel Dudley, respected minister who led Exeter’s residents for 33 years. Nathaniel Ladd and family, influential community members, built the Ladd Gilman House. Capt. Jonathan Thing and family, respected community leaders. Other early residents, may they all rest in peace.
