Description:
Granite stone approximately 3’X3’ standing in the ground, surrounded by a few trees and shrubs. There is inscription on both the front and back of the stone.
Wording:
Side 1: Dover 1623 First Permanent Settlement in New Hampshire, in memory of the men and women who were Dover’s founders from 1623 to 1650. Erected by their direct descendents in 1938 sponsored by the Margery Sullivan Chapter D.A.R.
Side 2: Pomeroy Cove Landing Place of Ship Providence 1623, Ship James 1633, Where their water trail ended, New Hampshire’s roadway began.
