Description:
A very large granite fountain and horse trough now functioning as a two tier planter is on a strip of green in the center of downtown Dover. In the center of the monument is a large granite section jutting up from the fountain base. The center section is engraved with the wording below and embossed with a granite wreath. At the top of the structure is decorative metal work.

1913. Erected in honor of Joseph Morrill by his children.

- Joseph Morrill (1796-1871) was a prominent Dover businessman. He built two blocks of commercial space on Central Ave in downtown Dover.
